Nate's farm is dedicated to replicated research trials. He started AgRevival in 2014 to gain a deeper understanding of agronomic products and practices.
Nate Firle, founder and lead agronomist of AgRevival, grew up on a farm near Fairfax, Minnesota. After high school he enrolled in the law enforcement program at Mankato State University. A stint as a college security officer convinced Nate to switch career paths and study agriculture at neighboring South Central College.
Before beginning his agriculture studies, Nate worked one season for Seneca picking sweet corn fourteen hours a day, seven days a week. “That’s where I found God,” says Nate. “I knew who he was, but I didn’t know the relationship that I could have with him. I am very thankful that I was raised in a Lutheran school, because I grew up knowing who Jesus was, but I definitely found him during that period in my life.”
Nate earned his associates degree in agronomy at South Central College in North Mankato, Minnesota. During his time at SCC, Nate had the opportunity to intern for Legend Seed in De Smet, South Dakota. (Nate was Legend's first ever intern.) After his internship concluded, Nate continued working for Legend as a district sales manager in south central Minnesota. During his time in sales, Nate also assisted in developing Legend's research capabilities, including its Knowledge Plot program.
Nate's passion for agricultural testing, learning, and sharing led him to design and conduct his first solo replicated strip trial in 2009. In 2014 Nate made a proverbial leap of faith and started AgRevival. By 2015 he was working full-time with his own business to assist companies that didn’t have research departments with product trials. Soon after founding AgRevival, Nate also began serving as an agronomist for around 40 farmers. These relationships also lead Nate to develop on-farm trials to uncover deeper observations about the products and practices he tests through AgRevival.
Nate has also conducted PFR (Practical Farm Research) studies for Beck's Hybrids and has served as a regional business manager for the company. Currently, Nate continues his relationship with Beck's leading the company's new hybrid testing program.
